![]() The Beef and Dairy Network Podcast is a bit like what everyone says about Schitt’s Creek: it starts out unspectacularly, but those who persevere will be rewarded thereafter. – Calla Wahlquist A show devoted to cows: The Beef and Dairy Network It is exactly what I want to listen to while the world falls apart. I have listened to 15 episodes in a week and laughed so hard on my daily walk that I startled a cavoodle. Does it matter that I have never had direct experience of Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield’s blue-green eyes, blonde hair and perfect size six figures? Not in the slightest. I know that, as a journalist, I should pretend to enjoy listening to investigative podcasts but what I really want is two people with good chemistry, preferably women, recapping a thing. But that did not stop me from immediately downloading Double Love on the back of the one line-description of arts writer and editor Jane Howard: “Two Irish women rereading Sweet Valley High and realising how awful it is.” My ghostwritten series of choice was The Saddle Club because I was (still am) an insufferable horse girl. I’ve never read a Sweet Valley High book. ![]() – Joe Koning A show devoted to reading – and hating – Sweet Valley High: Double Love Meanwhile, Scott struggles to remember even the most basic of details about the Turtles, even with the help of the catchy and descriptive ear worm that is the TMNT theme song (“Splinter taught them to be ninja teens/Leonardo leads/Donatello does machines…”). ![]() It’s a delight to hear Sprague break each film down with warmth and enthusiasm. Also covered is the 1993 film Surf Ninjas, which has no turtles, but several ninjas (and some surfing). qSRgFuBglX- Scott Aukerman August 20, 2020Įach episode has Scott and Sprague recap one of the live-action Turtles movies, beginning with the original early 90s trilogy, through to the Michael Bay reboots of the 2010s. She-Hulk promises to be a much lighter affair than WandaVision or even Loki, seeming more of a pair with the latest Marvel Disney+ release, Hawkeye. With so much conjecture and so many theories flying around, it can be hard to know what to take seriously.Īt the very least, this interview proves Maslany has a sense of humor about herself and the show, which should be a good fit for the next genre Marvel is taking on with its slate of streaming shows. There's been some confusion over co-star Jameela Jamil's role on the show, rumors over a World War Hulk film following up the series, and talk about what sort of role Charlie Cox's Daredevil might have. She-Hulk has been the subject of much speculation since its announcement, so it's understandable that some might see a singing Shulkie as a possibility. That said, considering the highly facetious rapport Maslany has with Aukerman and Diston and those on-the-nose song choices, she could have been 100% joking. The three are clearly having a good time with the idea of a singing Jade Giantess. "I do 'It Ain't Easy Being Green,'" she adds. "Do you do the Madonna version or the Peggy Lee version?" one host asks, and Maslany answers in the affirmative after Madonna is mentioned. I do 'Fever'." This response draws big laughs and more questions. Maslany hesitates and the hosts press on, laughing, "They got you singing?" and "Do you get to sing? Do you guys karaoke?" Maslany then coyly confirms, "I do. "Any sexy songs in She-Hulk?" is the question that sets off the whole exchange.
